Realme never stops chaining announcements of new smartphones in the middle of the year. On May 26, a particularly solid mobile with technical specifications made its debut: the Realme X3 Super Zoom. As its name suggests, the Chinese brand’s mobile emphasizes the photo and its ability to see far. Realme clearly follows in Xiaomi’s footsteps in Europe, both from the point of view of the aggressiveness of the performance / price ratio and that of the number of references launched per month.
The X3 Super Zoom has an evocative name since it promises a “60x hybrid zoom” . To achieve such a zoom level, Realme combines several photo modules on the back of the smartphone. The main module is based on a 64 megapixel sensor, an Isocell GW1 designed by Samsung and crossed on the Realme XT and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro . This module works with the pixel binning methodwhich combines 4 pixels in 1 for better performance, especially in low light. To this module is added a stabilized periscopic telephoto lens (124 mm equivalent in 24×36) coupled to an 8 megapixel sensor. The third module is an ultra wide-angle 8 megapixel sensor too. The fourth and last back module is dedicated to macro. At the front, selfies are provided by two photo modules. One is based on a 32 megapixel sensor, while the second, in an 8 megapixel sensor, offers an ultra wide-angle.
By focusing so much on the photo, the Realme X3 Super Zoom was pushed to make some concessions. The most obvious is the use of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC and not the latest Snapdragon 865. An uncommon choice for a Chinese manufacturer always quick to be in the race for “always more”. In practice, this should not prevent the X3 from performing very well in all cases. Especially since this processor is coupled to no less than 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. No compromises were made on the battery side, however. That of the X3 Super Zoom boasts a capacity of 4,300 mAh and can be recharged in less than an hour thanks to the fast charge 30 W.
The screen of the Realme X3 Super Zoom is based on a 6.5-inch IPS panel in Full HD + definition. The panel is capable of rising to a refresh rate of 120 Hz for a greater feeling of fluidity. The fingerprint reader is positioned on the edge of the mobile. In terms of connectivity, the X3 Super Zoom is classic with Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and 4G compatibility.
This launch only concerns certain European markets at the moment. France should follow in the coming weeks. For the markets concerned, the conference mentioned a price of € 499, which we imagine is close to that which will be practiced in France.
